This one is kind of similar to my last one, except...GUMBALLS. A couple of years ago, I took about a hundred photos of gumballs, but they didn't resonate with me at the time. My friend Pamela said something like, "You have GOT TO paint these. Promise me." And I proceeded to sit on them for, yeah, two years.
Then I finished the marbles last week, and I must have been drunk from those colors because all of a sudden these gumballs seemed like the logical choice for me to paint next. And oh they were big fun. But this painting is really about the foil in between the marbles. It is truly insane, with lots of wrinkles, weird shapes, and reflections. I had a blast painting it.
