Brand new! It took about four days for me to complete this one. These are milkweed seeds that have escaped their pods and are preparing to take flight! I painted the wispiest parts of the "parachutes" with white gouache, which I rarely use because I'm an old-school transparent watercolor loyalist. But sometimes the only thing that makes sense is a little opaque white on a watercolor.

Beautiful! I love the individual wispy strands; they're so delicate I didn't even see them for a few minutes. But that's what makes this painting so beautiful: the miniscule details that surprise you the more you look.

I love how you take simple, little things, like milkweed seeds, and make them so intriguing.

Great painting!  I knew these were milkweed seeds.  I love their fluffiness!

Total brilliance! I love seeing nature inspired traditional art. This is such a compelling snapshot of a moment in time, it instantly tells a story, while also being visually compelling and aesthetically beautiful. Awesome stuff.
