Pink Heart by KellyEddington Pink Heart by KellyEddington
Finished! Maybe it's just a busy time of year, but this one... Let's just say that after a long, difficult labor, I have finally given birth to a healthy, baby painting weighing in at let's say 2 ounces and 10.5" by 13.5" long.

I'm calling it Pink Heart, although I also thought about calling it Hot Pink Heart. Do you like that one better? I've thought about those words so much that they've become nonsense at this point. Please advise!

Anyway, the pink yarn here is kind of the star of the painting. It's loud and strategically placed, and the loose yarn strands remind me of veins and arteries. Going along with that idea, the other yarn balls could be other organs. Maybe the light gray one is the brain. I hope you like this painting!

This is a brilliant piece! I can almost feel the soft wool fibres just by looking. The sense of wispiness and three dimensionalism is astounding. As for the title, my suggestion is "Tugging Heartstrings" or "Pink Heartstrings". I really liked what you said about the piece being symbolic of our blood vessels and organs. Especially since yarn can be knitted into a variety of beautiful forms, just like weird internal body parts create endless seas of beautiful animals.

Gah, your work is pure perfection, as usual. I love the way you see the balls of yarn as bodily organs -- very creative!
And I think Pink Heart sounds best. Putting "hot" before it is almost distracting, linguistically; like, too many "h"s in one phrase. (Sorry, I'm an English major. I obsess over this stuff. :) )
